At Roof-A-Vet, our mission is simple: roof veterans for little or no cost - because they’ve earned far more than a thank you.
Founded in 2021 by Jon Kenyon in Dover, New Hampshire, Roof-A-Vet is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing full roof replacements to U.S. veterans in need. Every dollar donated goes directly toward helping a veteran receive a safe, secure roof over their head—no overhead, no fluff, just impact.
Jon’s passion for this mission is personal. His grandfather survived Pearl Harbor. His great uncles fought in WWII. His uncles served in Korea and Vietnam. And today, both of Jon and his wife Susan’s sons are proud U.S. Marines, while their daughter serves in the local high school ROTC program. When the Army turned Jon away in 1991, he never lost the desire to serve. Roof-A-Vet became the answer.
“Serving our veterans is even better than anything I could have done in the Army,” Jon says. “Sometimes things work out for a reason.”
At Roof-A-Vet, we believe every veteran deserves to feel safe and valued in the home they return to. Whether they were on the front lines, behind the scenes, or served in any role in between—we serve them because they first served us.

Whether a rifleman on the front lines, a mechanic keeping the fleet going, or every job in between, their service to our country is insurmountable. At Roof-A-Vet we believe in serving those that have served us. About the Founder
Roof-A-Vet was founded in Dover New Hampshire by Jon Kenyon in 2021 at the same time he started his roofing business Professional Roofing.
Jon’s great uncles served in WWII. His grandfather did too and survived Pearl Harbor. Several uncles served in Korea and Vietnam. Jon and his wife Susan have three kids. Both of their sons became U.S. Marines and their daughter serves thier local community in Dover high school’s ROTC program. It’s fair to say, Jon and his family are patriots.
In 1991, the Army turned down his request to enlist to fight in the Kuwait war. Jon says that Roof-A-Vet gives him that feeling of serving. “Serving our veterans is even better than anything I could have done in the Army. Sometimes things work out for a reason”
